Currency Buy Back

We buy back the following currency at our Travel Money Bureaux in-store:

We don’t buy back foreign coins.

Just take your currency or prepaid card to a Travel Money Bureau in selected Tesco stores.

You can just turn up, or drop in when you’re doing your shopping. And we’ll get your cash for you there and then.

You can choose a collection date when you place your order. If you buy before 2pm, you can pick up Euros, US Dollars or selected in-season currencies from most Tesco Travel Money Bureaux the next day. Other currencies can take up to 5 days.

You can order your currency for next-weekday delivery to Tesco stores which offer Click+Collect from a Customer Service Desk, but don’t have an in-store Travel Money Bureau. If you go with this option, you’ll need to pay a collection fee of £2.50 if your order’s under £500.

Please collect your travel money within 4 days of your collection date. If you don’t, your order will be cancelled and your money refunded, minus a £10 administration fee.

We offer next-day home delivery on all currencies to most parts of the UK if ordered before 2pm, Monday to Thursday. You can also choose a delivery date to suit you.

We’ll send your travel money to your home address by Royal Mail Special Delivery. See delivery costs below.

Please note, next-day delivery isn’t available to all addresses in the UK. You should check the Royal Mail website to find out if your postcode is eligible.

We can’t cancel or amend home delivery orders after they’ve been made.

Clubcard Prices are available on the sell rate of a currency and only for currencies in stock online on the day you buy. The Clubcard Price will be better than the standard rate advertised online.

When buying online, you must enter a valid Clubcard number to get the Clubcard Price rate. Exchange rates may vary depending on whether you’re buying in-store, online or over the phone.

Clubcard Prices apply to the sell rate on foreign currency notes. The Clubcard Price will be better than the standard rate advertised online. Clubcard data is captured by Travelex on behalf of Tesco Travel Money.

Rates will vary depending on whether you’re buying in-store, online or over the phone. They’ll also vary depending on whether you’re buying cash or a prepaid currency card.

We won’t charge you a card handling fee, no matter how you buy your travel money - whether it be in-store, online or over the phone.

However, your credit or debit card provider may charge fees for currency transactions - for example, cash advance or other fees. So, if you’re not sure, it’s best to check with them before you buy.

You can cancel a Click+Collect order any time before your collection date. We'll refund the full amount you paid in Pounds Sterling.

However, if you cancel less than 24 hours before your collection date, we'll charge you a £10 late cancellation fee and deduct this from your refund.

We can’t refund any fees charged by your card provider, so please contact them if you have any questions about that.

It couldn’t be simpler. Just pop into one of our in-store Travel Money Bureaux when you get home.

We buy back:

It doesn't matter where you bought your travel money - even if it wasn’t from us - we'll still buy it back.

Please note:

For extra peace of mind, you can add our Buy Back Promise for a small fee when you buy your travel money from us.

You can add our Buy Back Promise when you buy your travel money from us online or in-store. Then, if you have any left over when you get home, we’ll turn your foreign currency back into Pounds Sterling at the same exchange rate you bought it at.

Just take your unspent currency to one of our in-store Travel Money Bureaux and we’ll buy it back.

Our Buy Back Promise costs just £2.75 if you’re a Clubcard member or £2.99 if you’re not.

Our Buy Back Promise is only available if you’re:

We’ll buy back your foreign currency bank notes at the same exchange rate you got when you bought your travel money from us, up to a maximum value of £250.

We’ll buy back any currency you have above the £250 limit using the rate available on the day, which you can see on our rates board in-store.

When you buy your travel money from us, you’ll see the exchange rate on your receipt.

If you find a better exchange rate from another provider, we'll match it at a Travel Money Bureau in-store. As long as it’s:

Price Match only applies in-store on a like-for-like basis on sell transactions. It doesn’t apply to exchange rates advertised online or by phone.

This is not available in conjunction with any other offer. We reserve the right to check the rate you’ve found and the 3-mile distance from our store (using a standard route planning tool).
